Miroslav Klose has revealed the reasons behind his decision to reject Bayern Munich’s offer of coaching their under-19 side.
Klose was in charge of Die Roten’s under-17 team last season and the club had hoped that the former striker would take the step up and replace Sebastian Hoeness in the old age group.
The 41-year-old however, decided to stay put, with many claiming that was evidence of a rift with sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.
Klose though, has quashed those rumours and indicated exactly why he didn’t want to coach the under-19’s.
“Absolutely nonsense, even if it was presented in public,” he told Kicker.
“There were not two stubborn heads meeting each other. I’m just glad that I can continue to train this team, this solution is the best for all sides.”
“For me, the step to U 19 would have come too early. When I do something, I have to be 100 percent confident to get the best performance and I have a clear plan for my career.”
