Miralem Pjanić looks set to be given a contract extension by Juventus, with new reports suggesting his wages will increase to €6m per season.

The Bosnia international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Bianconeri this summer, with both Barcelona and Manchester City thought to be interested in his services.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport claim that neither side has come close to the Old Lady’s €100m of the midfielder and the Italian giants are desperate to keep hold of the set-piece star.

The pink paper reports that a meeting was held in Milan on Monday between the club and the player’s representatives, with both sides coming to an agreement on an extension.

It’s thought that the 28-year-old will put pen-to-paper in the coming days on a deal that will see him stay with the Serie A giants until 2022, with his wages going up by €1.5m per year.

The former Roma man was one of Massimiliano Allegri’s key men last term as they overcame Napoli to win their seventh Scudetto in succession.
