Just a week ago, Miguel Herrera said Jérémy Ménez was training very well with the club.
However, on Tuesday, Piojo changed his narrative on the French attacker.
“He’s not training well, he’s not involved with the team,” Herrera admitted on TDN’s Zona Águila programme.
“You have to be fair to all the players and I have approached him. I do not see him with the attitude of entering, of getting in, of fighting to be in a position to play.”
Herrera added that players like Nicolás Benedetti have been in great form, which has prevented Ménez from being able to play.
“Nico Benedetti was doing things very well and in that competition, he (Ménez) had to do very well and be very well physically and he didn’t make the grade.”
América will finish the 2019 Clausura season against Santos and Veracruz as they fight for a place in the Liguilla.
