Miguel Herrera has been sent off 40 times in his career!

Miguel Herrera’s latest outburst at the referees will keep him off the sidelines for three games, but this is far from Herrera’s first rodeo.

In 17 years on the bench in Liga MX and Copa MX, Miguel Herrera has been kicked off the pitch or suspended a record 40 times in his career.

Herrera’s first expulsion came during the 2002 Clausura tournament while he was the boss of Atalante during a draw with Pumas.

In Herrera’s stints with Club América, he has been sent off 11 times.

The colleague who is closest to Piojo is the recently-fired Chivas boss, Tomás Boy, who has been expelled 32 times since Winter 1996.

Next down the list are Carlos Reinoso with 27, Rubén Omar Romano and Ricardo La Volpe with 21, Sergio Bueno with 20, Raúl Arias with 18, Tuca Ferretti with 16 and Víctor Manuel Vucetich with 13.
