It certainly feels like there’s an internal war between Unai Emery and Mesut Özil.

Despite his return to training earlier in the week, Özil did not travel to Belarus with his side as Arsenal suffered a famous 1-0 loss to BATE in the first leg of their Europa League round-of-32 tie.

Though he captained the Gunners on 29 January in their 2-1 win over Cardiff, the 30-year-old has not seen the pitch since.

On Friday, Özil took to social media to post this rather interesting message, quoting Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp.

It not only appears that Özil is taking shots at Arsenal’s under-fire boss, it seems that Arsenal’s number 10 intends to stay with the club, despite exit rumors.

When looking at the context of the text, the captain’s armband in the photo, and the timing of the post, we can only assume Özil is motivated to see Emery go and resume his Arsenal career.
