Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt has agreed personal terms with Juventus and is likely to complete his move to the Serie A side in the coming weeks.

That’s according to a story in the Guardian on Thursday which claims that the centre-back has said ‘yes’ to the Bianconeri, in a deal that would see him become one of the best-paid players in the world.

It’s claimed that De Ligt will earn a basic salary of €300,000-per-week at Juve, with performance-related bonuses taking that up to a potential €440,000-per-week.

The contract will run for the next five years with a release clause of €150m.

Now it’s down to the Bianconeri to agree a fee with Ajax over their captain with the Italian outfit hopeful that somewhere close to €70m should see him come to Turin.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly still in the running to sign the centre-back, but it seems as Juve are very much in the driving seat for his signature.
