Wolves’ respect for the Premier League title race will see them go to Anfield aiming to pull off an upset, Matt Doherty insisted.

With seventh place already assured for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side, you could forgive them for already having their minds on the beach.

But Liverpool still have a title to fight for and Doherty was adamant that Wolves won’t be willing participants in a comfortable home win.

However, he was also keen to praise the hard work already done by his side this season to come to the brink of bringing European football back to Molineux.

“We have one more game to go and we must respect what is happening at the top of the league,” the Irishman said, as quoted by the Express and Star.

“We will prepare properly as we always do and we’re going to Liverpool to try to win.

“Considering where we were two years ago, this is pretty unbelievable really, how quickly change has happened for us.

“Some of the lads have played in Europe but a lot of us haven’t so it would be a new experience.

“Everyone is trying to get better and playing in European competitions just shows where the club could be.”

Wolves need Manchester City to beat Watford in the FA Cup final to be assured of Europa League football next season.
