Bayern Munich defender Mats Hummels does not consider his Germany career over.

Hummels, along with team-mates Jérôme Boateng and Thomas Müller, were all but told they will no longer be considered for Germany last week.

However, the centre-back still believes he could play for the national team once more.

“We will see what else happens,” Hummels said after Bayern lost to Liverpool on Wednesday, per Sport BILD.

“I wouldn’t rule out a comeback. The three of us aren’t that bad yet.

“Maybe there are injury issues. Maybe we’re still good enough when Euro 2020 comes around. Anything is possible.”

Asked if his relationship with Joachim Löw is now soured, Hummels insisted it wouldn’t be an issue.

“When it’s possible to play for Germany again, that comes first above all else.”

Löw’s Germany squad on Friday included a first call-up for Hertha BSC defender Niklas Stark.
