Mario Mandžukić rejects Sevilla switch with Bayern preparing bid

Juventus striker Mario Mandžukić has reportedly rejected a summer move to Sevilla – in favour of returning to Bayern Munich.

Sevilla expressed an interest in Mandžukić following the €40m sale of Wissam Ben Yedder to Monaco.

According to Tuttosport, the 33-year-old has been considered ‘surplus to requirements’ by Maurizio Sarri and is considering a late transfer window move.

Bayern are still searching for attacking firepower despite the loan signing of Ivan Perišić, and could turn to Mandžukić as an option.

Juventus would be open to loaning their centre forward but would prefer selling on a permanent deal.

The Croatia international spent two seasons in Bavaria between 2012-14, winning five titles and scoring 34 goals in 54 appearances.
