Mario Mandžukić has held talks about a possible return to Bayern Munich this summer.
That’s according to Sky Germany, who report that Bayern have explored the possibility of bringing the Croatian striker back to the Allianz Arena to provide competition for Robert Lewandowski.
Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with a move for Mandžukić in recent weeks but according to Sky, it is now highly unlikely the 33-year-old will be heading to the Westfalenstadion.
Mandžukić joined Bayern from Wolfsburg in 2012 and went on to score 48 goals in 88 games before leaving to join Atlético Madrid in 2014.
After one season in Spain he moved to Juventus, where he has remained since.
The striker signed a new contract with the Bianconeri a few months ago which runs until 2021 and according to Goal, his preference would be to stay in Turin this summer.
However, after he netted 10 times 33 games in all competitions last season, it might be time to move on and a return to Munich could be just the tonic.
