Chelsea manager Frank Lampard and director Marina Granovskaia reportedly have ‘clashing ideas’ over whether Willian should be handed a new contract or not.

The 31-year-old has just four months left on his current deal and the Blues are yet to initiate fresh talks, meaning he could join a new club for free this summer.

According to Express Sport, Lampard is pushing for Willian to be offered a three-year deal, while Granovskaia (backed by the Chelsea board) are reluctant to budge on their offer of a one-year deal plus one-year option.

It’s understood that senior officials would prefer to recruit ‘young’ this summer with Jadon Sancho and Dayot Upamecano major transfer targets.

Lampard could have upwards of £200m to spend following their one-window transfer ban and failing to invest in January.

Pedro and Olivier Giroud are also expected to leave the club on free transfers this summer.
