Chelsea full-back Marcos Alonso has ruled out going back to La Liga giants Real Madrid this summer, insisting that his future is at Stamford Bridge.

The 27-year-old defender, who made his debut for Spain during their 6-1 thrashing of Argentina on Tuesday, joined Antonio Conte’s men in 2016 and has since managed to establish himself as one Premier League’s best.

Rumours have been circulating suggesting that the Spain international is looking to leave Chelsea and go back to the Bernabéu at the end of the Premier League season, but Alonso has ended all speculation of his departure.

“I have not considered that possibility (returning to Madrid), I just try to give the best of me and my team,” Alonso told Spanish newspaper Marca.

“I made my (Madrid) debut with (Manuel) Pellegrini in 2009/10, and that summer I had the opportunity to go to the Premier League.

“I don’t know what would’ve happened if I stayed, I live in the present.”

Chelsea are back on Sunday for a (hopefully) thriller clash against bitter-London-rivals, Tottenham at home.
