According to French outlet RMC Sport, PSG midfielder Marco Verratti will return a little sooner than originally expected.

After suffering a sprained ankle in PSG’s 9-0 rout of last-placed Guingamp, many feared that he could miss the Champions League first leg tie against Manchester United.

Those fears worsened just days later when Neymar suffered another severe injury to the same metatarsal bone that kept him out for a large part of PSG’s second half of last season.

However, according to the report, Verratti no longer feels pain and will be ready to go mid-week.

Though the 26-year-old will likely miss this Sunday’s clash at Lyon, he is expected back on the pitch for their duel against Bordeaux on 9 February, likely as a substitute, so that he will be at full-strength for their match against Manchester United three days later.
