On Tuesday evening, Everton survived a physical contest and a 66th-minute Lucas Digne red card to win 1-0 away at Huddersfield thanks to a third-minute goal from Richarlison.
Ahead of the match, football circles were discussing rumors of a second bid from PSG for Idrissa Gana Gueye after the midfielder was not named to the 18-man matchday squad.
After the match, Everton boss Marco Silva insisted that Gueye missed out due to injury.
“There’s nothing new. I tried to be honest with you and our fans. He had a minor problem in his groin. There have been no new offers.”
Prior to the match, it was reported that Manchester United and Arsenal suddenly were in the running to make an 11th-hour swoop for Gueye.
Sky Sports had reported that Gueye submitted a transfer request, however, Everton adamantly denied this claim.
