Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus is eyeing this Sunday’s game against Bayer Leverkusen for his return.
The talismanic forward has not played since suffering a thigh strain on 5 February.
Dortmund have since since struggled, drawing 3-3 to Hoffenheim and being held to a goalless draw by relegation-threatened Nürnberg. Those results have seen their lead at the top of the Bundesliga cut from seven points to just three.
The German giants also lost 3-0 to Tottenham in the Champions League without Reus.
Now, according to BILD, the 29-year-old has declared himself fit for the weekend.
The BVB skipper has scored 13 Bundesliga goals this season and assisted a further six.
Dortmund haven’t won in five games in all competitions and will have to turn things around quickly if their title challenge is going to avoid going up in flames.
Having Reus fit and firing is crucial to that. With him in the side this year Dortmund have won 2.42 points per game, compared to just 1.67 per game without him.
