Marcelo Bielsa said his Leeds side reached a “new level” in the 1-0 win over Bristol City on Saturday.
The victory, their first in four games, moved them three points clear of third place Fulham and within four points of Championship leaders West Brom.
Luke Ayling’s 16th-minute goal against his former club was enough to see Leeds over the line.
Speaking to media after the game, Bielsa was full of praise for the performance at Elland Road.
“It was a fair win, we attacked well, but we missed a lot of chances,” the 64-year-old Argentine said.
“We defended well, they created a few chances, but we fought for every ball.
“We scored one goal, we ran a lot and we recovered a lot of 50-50 balls.
“The performance in general and individually in the team was positive. Every player recovered the ball a lot and technically the team showed a new level as well.”
The Yorkshire side now have a week to prepare for the visit of Reading.
