Real Betis defender Marc Bartra claims he’s never once ruled out a Barcelona return despite leaving the club for Borussia Dortmund in summer 2016.
Bartra, now 29, has been playing some of his best football since joining Betis two years ago, becoming their everyday starter and earning a Spain recall in October 2018.
With Barcelona rumoured to be buying a defender in the summer, Bartra became awfully reminiscent when asked about a potential return to Catalonia.
“Right now I am totally focused on Betis. I am feeling very good here, although I have never closed the doors on a return to Barça,” Bartra said after Betis defeated Real Madrid 2-1.
“I spent 15 years of my life there and they were very beautiful years.
“I follow Barça very much. I have many friends in the locker room and now there is also the coach who made me come here.”
The Real Betis victory sent Barcelona back on top of the table, where they now lead Real Madrid by two points.
