Samir Nasri has not played in over a month and there are fears that he may not ever play again in a West Ham shirt.
The 31-year-old joined the Hammers in January after a lengthy FIFA ban but has barely featured, making just six appearances totaling 303 minutes in all competitions.
Nasri is currently benched with a calf strain for the third time since his arrival and when asked by football.london whether he would get back on the pitch this season, manager Manuel Pellegrini was unsurprisingly coy.
“I hope that we can see him again this season.”
West Ham will next face London rivals Tottenham on Saturday.
