There is still no update on a new contract for Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer, the goalkeeper has confirmed.
On Sunday night, Neuer’s clean sheet helped his side to a scoreless stalemate at home against RB Leipzig.
Speaking after the game, he discussed his future as his contract begins to wind down – with less than 18 months now left on his deal.
The situation is complicated further by the imminent arrival of Alexander Nübel from Schalke this summer.
“My plan is that I will continue to play football for Bayern,” he told Sky.
“Alex Nübel will be here in the summer but for me, I will continue and that will be the case until 2021.
“After that, I have enough time to talk to those who are responsible but there have been no signals on that front.
“There is nothing I can say about it at the moment. I’m focused on winning titles with Bayern.
“That is our goal. We don’t put personal things at the forefront.”
By the time Neuer’s current deal in Bavaria expires, he will be 35 years old.
