Manuel Neuer admits he expects to be in goal for Bayern Munich when they face Liverpool in the Champions League.
The 32-year-old has been sidelined with a thumb injury and missed games against Bayer Leverkusen, Hertha Berlin and Schalke.
However, Neuer insists he is feeling positive and hopes the medical team will authorise his availability to start at Anfield.
“I am fine, it’s not that bad,” he told ESPN. I think our medical staff will push me into goal if everything is fine in training.
“It’s my first game at Anfield and I’m looking forward to playing there. Everyone who watches football knows it’s special, and I think they will be two great games.
“For us, the Champions League is very important. Hopefully, it will be a great night for us. But it depends on the result, of course.”
Sven Ulreich is likely to continue in goal against Augsburg on Friday.
