Manuel Neuer is doubtful for Sunday’s Bundesliga fixture at 13th-placed Cologne after he was absent from Thursday’s training session due to illness.
Though Alphonso Davies (cold) and Joshua Kimmich (ankle) both returned to the first-team group, Bayern confirmed on social media that Neuer missed out with a gastrointestinal infection.
Though Neuer has appeared in 100 per cent of Bayern’s matches in all competitions this year, the German giants have plenty of options in reserve should the soon-to-be 34-year-old miss out this weekend.
Long-time backup Sven Ulreich, who is set to leave the club this summer, would be tipped to start in relief, while youth keepers Ron-Thorben Hoffmann and Christian Früchtl are also available.
