Manchester United are reportedly willing to set a new club transfer record this summer in their bid to secure top target Jadon Sancho.

After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took the wheel at Old Trafford on a permanent basis, his attention has now turned to summer planning.

Sancho has been identified as their number one priority, according to The Independent, and the club are ready to pay over £100m to get him.

That record fee, before bonuses, would be required to tempt Borussia Dortmund into even considering the sale of one of their prized assets.

The former Manchester City man has been a key figure in helping BVB mount a Bundesliga title challenge this season and has also been capped by England.

Permanent boss Solskjaer’s eagerness to have a younger, faster side next season has led to United making Sancho their main target.

Sancho does have three years remaining on his current contract in Dortmund and is not thought to be in a hurry to return to his homeland, even for a record fee.

Manchester United’s current biggest acquisition is midfielder Paul Pogba, who arrived from Juventus for £89m in 2016.
