Manchester United's Marcus Rashford is 'open' to Real Madrid switch | OneFootball

Marcus Rashford would be happy to join Real Madrid if the Spanish giants make an official bid for him.

At least, that’s according to The Sun, who claim Los Blancos have contacted Rashford’s entourage in recent days and made it known that they really are interested in him.

The England striker has started just five of Manchester United’s 12 Premier League goals this season, and is said to be growing tired of José Mourinho’s rotation policy.

Madrid are reported to have sent scouts to watch him play against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday and would be interested in bringing him to the Bernabéu in January.

The 21-year-old is understood to be reluctant to leave United – whom he has supported all his life – but is also concerned that his development is stalling at Old Trafford.

Speaking in September, England boss Gareth Southgate hinted that Rashford must play regularly at club level in order to be considered an automatic choice for the national team.

“The only way for him to improve is by playing. He knows we have real belief in him,” said Southgate.

“I think we also have to remember his age and what he’s achieved in a short period of time.

“He’s got a tremendous mentality, he’s got great talent, we think he’s got everything to go on and be a top player and I’m sure he’ll do that.”

The Mancunian – who is reportedly valued at around €55m – rose through the ranks at United and scored twice on his first-team debut in a Europa League clash with FC Midtjylland in February 2016.

He has since scored 34 goals in 136 games for the club and been capped 31 times by England.
