Manchester United have reportedly made Jadon Sancho their main target for the upcoming summer transfer window.

The 18-year-old has enjoyed an impressive rise for Borussia Dortmund since joining from Manchester City in 2017, scoring nine goals and assisting 15 this season.

According to Independent Sport, Sancho fits the profile of an ‘ideal United signing’ and has unified those at boardroom level.

What makes the winger an ideal United signing? The report goes into more detail:

  • An exciting young player with potential for improvement
  • The future of English football – which appeals to the fans
  • Excels as a right winger where the club are short on options

The feeling within Old Trafford is that Dortmund will demand €80m for Sancho, which would see them make ten times their initial outlay (€8m).

Philippe Coutinho was also under strong consideration but the Barcelona outcast has fallen down the shortlist after struggling this term.
