Manchester United have identified a cut-rate alternative should they fail in their efforts to land Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

United have had at least one bid for the 21-year-old rejected this week and could now turn to impressive Norwich City starlet Max Aarons.

Though the Red Devils have offered £35m plus an additional £15m in add-ons for Wan-Bissaka, Palace have been persistent in their desire to receive the full £50m up front.

Sky Sports reports that United have now turned their attention to Aarons, who won EFL Young Player of the Season as Norwich went on to win the Championship and earn promotion back to the Premier League.

It’s believed that United are attracted to the fact that Aarons is a proven winner and is used to featuring for a team that is attacking-minded.

However, the club will do everything they can to not part ways with any of their promising young talent this summer.

The England U-19 international, who is said to have a £15m valuation, is under contract with the Canaries until 2023.

United are also keeping their eye on Napoli’s Elseid Hysaj, who wants to depart this summer and “play for another team and maybe try to win something”.
