The 19-year-old was a regular for the Under-23 side and had been offered a new contract at the Etihad Stadium.

However, the Netherlands youth international opted against staying with the Premier League champions and has instead signed with Hertha.

The German club’s sporting director Michael Preetz confirmed the news on Thursday, admitting that the attacker was one of the most exciting prospects he’d seen.

“Dilrosun is a great talent with a lot of potential. He runs at people, and isn’t afraid to take them on. He’s got a great character and he’s hungry! The Fans will enjoy having him here.”
