Mention the idea of a quadruple to Pep Guardiola and he more or less loses it.
The Manchester City boss wants no part of any discussion on a potential four-trophy haul, despite his side’s historically good first half of the season.
But according to Aleks Zinchenko, it’s a topic that’s on the minds of City’s players every single day.
The 21-year-old Ukrainian has appeared several times for Guardiola this season and featured as City beat Burnley in the FA Cup on Saturday.
And he said of the quadruple: “We think about this every single day and every training session – we can win everything, and that’s why we are here.”
Zinchenko has personal aims as well. He’s been putting in extra work in the gym in a bid to impress his manager.
“I have to be professional and the trainer told me I had to be ready for my chance,” he explained.
“I don’t want to be all about that moment, when I didn’t play. I had to be ready and keep my balance.
“I did special exercises, some bicycle work and stuff for chest, hands and legs, and everything.”
Zinchenko will hope to play a big role on Tuesday as City face Bristol City in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final.
