Manchester City are reportedly willing to use Oleksandr Zinchenko as a makeweight to bring in Jorginho from Napoli.

Jorginho favours a move to the Etihad Stadium over neighbours Manchester United and is said to be available this summer for £53m.

However, according to the Sun, City will offer Zinchenko to the Italian club in order to drive the price down and reserve funds for other signings.

The 22-year-old will be offered as part of the transfer either on a permanent deal or on loan, depending on how much the Premier League champions are willing to pay upfront.

City are rumoured to have rejected an approach from the Italian side last year for Zinchenko, which proved a good call as the 21-year-old was used 14 times this season.

Jorginho’s agent revealed last week that the midfielder was ‘keen’ on signing for Pep Guardiola’s side.
