Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Roma forward Cengiz Ünder.

Ünder joined the Giallorossi from Istanbul Başakşehir last season and impressed both domestically and in Europe.

According to Gazzetta, Pep Guardiola has personally requested his signing despite having just secured Riyad Mahrez for a club-record fee.

The Premier League champions have shown an interest in Turkish talent before, selling Enes Ünal to Villarreal last summer and targeting Yusuf Yazici from Trabzonspor.

Manager Eusebio di Francesco and sporting director Monchi are reluctant to sell Ünder but may be open to offers if their initial €12m investment is doubled or tripled.

City are also interested in a central midfielder after missing out on Jorginho, with Thiago, Miralem Pjanić and Mateo Kovačić on their shortlist.
