Manchester City will be prepared to let Fabian Delph go this summer as his contract nears its end.

There is just one year remaining on the 29-year-old’s current deal and first team opportunities are likely to be scarce next season.

With midfielder Rodri and left-back Angelino likely to join from Atlético Madrid and PSV respectively, Delph will not expect to see much action.

The England international brilliantly deputised at left-back in 2017/18 as Benjamin Mendy missed almost the whole season injured. Last year, though, Delph fell behind Oleksandr Zinchenko in the pecking order.

Youth team graduate Phil Foden will be expected to have much opportunities in midfield and Ilkay Gündogan is expected to stay, meaning Delph will not get a look-in in his natural midfield position.

According to the Daily Mail, City will now entertain offers, providing Delph does want to leave. The report claims Galatasaray are interested.

The versatile midfielder made just eight Premier League starts last season and that number is only set to go down if and when deals for Rodri and Angelino are completed.

Delph has kept his place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad until now but that could change ahead of Euro 2020, especially if his playing time decreases.
