Manchester City board member Alberto Galassi has reiterated that Pep Guardiola will not be leaving Manchester City for Juventus.
Italian media continue to run reports that a four-year deal has been agreed between club and manager, which have since proven untrue.
And to completely dispel the rumours, Galassi has given an exclusive interview to Sky Italia explaining the situation.
“As a board member of Manchester City, today I was very surprised to read reports that Guardiola had agreed terms with Juventus,” he told reporters.
“First, the coach wants to stay and has another two years of contract. Second, a club like Juventus would never have allowed the release of such news.
“I have to compliment Sky and the journalist Di Marzio because they have not given a voice to this thing.”
“Pep is an exceptional professional. His will is to stay with Manchester City, and he cannot understand why his word is not heard.
“We do not understand why we have to intervene. Guardiola wants to stay. It’s clear.
“I recently spoke to Nedved and we had a laugh. Now? We let go of Pep and let him enjoy the holidays.”
Simone Inzaghi and Mauricio Pochettino are currently the bookmakers’ favourites to replace Massimiliano Allegri.
