Manchester City are reportedly closing in on the signing of right-back João Cancelo from Juventus.
The Portugal international only arrived at the Allianz Stadium last summer but now looks set for a swift exit.
Initial talks took place between Juventus and City earlier this month in relation to Cancelo’s availability this summer.
Goal report that renewed discussions took place between the clubs on Monday around a deal for the defender.
Juventus had been seeking a fee of €60m for Cancelo, which is one that the Premier League champions were hesitant to meet.
However, after having an initial bid rebuffed, City are ready to increase their offer in order to get their man.
Goal’s story suggests that a deal is likely to be finalised this week in a move worth €50m plus bonuses.
Cancelo is set to replace Danilo at the Etihad Stadium, with City happy to let the Brazilian leave this summer in search of first team football.
The former Real Madrid man wants to play regularly after featuring in just 22 games in all competitions for the Citizens last season.
His likely replacement was an important player for Juventus in another successful season, culminating in their eighth straight Serie A title.
