Manchester City are reportedly facing a contract stand-off with talented youngster Brahim Díaz.

Díaz’s deal runs until next summer and both he and the club had been expecting to renew terms ahead of the new season.

However, differences in opinion over first team opportunities has lead to negotiations stalling with time running out.

According to Goal, City are keen to send him out on loan to gain first-team experience with LaLiga partner club Girona the likely destination.

Brahim’s preference is to break into the first team at City. Failing that, the player would seek a permanent deal which would be a better for his development.

The Malaga academy product made 21 first-team appearances for the Blues last season – all but one from the bench – and may end up forcing a move.
