Former Manchester City left-back Angeliño appears to be set for a shock return to the club this summer.

Angeliño left City in a permanent switch to PSV Eindhoven last summer but the Premier League champions included a buy-back clause in the deal.

And according to reports in Spain and the Netherlands on Monday, it seems Pep Guardiola is ready to bring the 22-year-old back to the Etihad Stadium for €12m.

However, Goal report that the Spaniard could actually only cost as little as €6m.

Angeliño excelled as PSV came a close second to Ajax in the race for the Eredivisie title last term.

According to Spanish outlet La Voz de Galicia, Paris Saint-Germain made a €25m offer to sign the pacy full-back this summer, but the Dutch club were unable to accept the bid under the terms of their agreement with City.

There have been suggestions that City could buy Angeliño back and then immediately sell him to PSG for a profit, but it seems Guardiola actually intends to keep the youngster around to compete for a left-back spot.

The Blues were linked with Leicester’s Ben Chilwell earlier in the summer but that transfer now looks extremely unlikely to go ahead.

As things stand, their only left-back options are makeshift full-back Alex Zinchenko and the injury-prone Benjamin Mendy, meaning Angeliño is likely to get opportunities next season if he does return to Manchester.

The Spain U21 international – full name José Ángel Esmoris Tasende – originally joined City as a 15-year-old and has previously made three senior appearances for the club.

Before moving to PSV, he also spent time on loan at New York City FC, Girona, Mallorca and NAC Breda.
