Manchester City are reportedly ready to sell Raheem Sterling in 12 months time, if he fails to agree terms on a new deal at the club.
The 23-year-old shelved negotiations before the World Cup in the hope that a sparkling tournament would strengthen his hand at the negotiating table.
The forward’s camp were banking on Sterling impressing in Russia and thus increasing the pressure on City to accept his demands for a vast improvement on his current €180,000-per-week deal.
However, according to both the Mirror and the Telegraph, the Citizens are unwilling to meet his demands and will wait for the player and his representatives to come back with a more acceptable offer.
The England international’s current deal runs out in 2020, and although City don’t want to lose one of their best players, it’s believed that the club don’t want to set a precedent and will sell the former Liverpool man should talks fail this coming season.
