Last summer, it appeared to be a done deal that Roma had signed Bordeaux standout Malcom.
A deal was in place for the Brazilian to move to the Eternal City until Barcelona decided to swoop late.

That was enough to turn the player’s head and allow him to quickly backtrack and move to the Camp Nou instead.
However, the forward has claimed that he had never given the green light to a Roma move in the first place.
“I never accepted Roma’s offer but it was my agents who said yes,” he told De Sola.
“At the time I was happy but then Barcelona came in and it was a dream to be playing with the best in the world.
“It is also a dream to play for Roma but you could do that later and I preferred to come to Barcelona.
“I wanted to learn a lot and that is what is happening even if I don’t play a lot sometimes.
“Every day I learn things by watching the other players. It is a dream. That’s why I chose Barcelona.”
Malcom has struggled for opportunities, making just six starts in all competitions, but has still chipped in with five goals and two assists.
