A deal was in place for the Brazilian to move to the Eternal City until Barcelona decided to swoop late.
That was enough to turn the player’s head and allow him to quickly backtrack and move to the Camp Nou instead.

“At the time I was happy but then Barcelona came in and it was a dream to be playing with the best in the world.
“It is also a dream to play for Roma but you could do that later and I preferred to come to Barcelona.

Malcom has struggled for opportunities, making just six starts in all competitions, but has still chipped in with five goals and two assists.
