Tottenham’s new £24.5m signing may start on Sunday after an impressive performance in his full debut against Rochdale.
The Evening Standard is reporting that Mauricio Pochettino is considering giving new signing Lucas Moura his full Premier League debut after a scintillating performance in Tottenham’s 2-2 draw with Rochdale in last Sunday’s FA Cup tie, punctuated by a lovely goal.
After the Brazilian’s January move from Paris Saint-Germain, Pochettino originally downplayed the impact Lucas would make in the second half of the season. However, with five matches in 15 days across three competitions, the Tottenham manager is sure to rotate his squad in his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation.
He will be competing for time on the left side behind Harry Kane against the likes of Heung-Min Son and Erik Lamela.
Given Son’s spectacular season – scoring eight goals and assisting four others – he will be hard to displace. However, Pochettino will have a selection headache after Lucas’ debut display.
