Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne has slammed Gonzalo Higuaín for the way he treated his former team-mates during their time in Italy.

Higuaín played alongside Insigne for three years at Napoli before joining Juventus in 2016, after scoring a record breaking 36 goals under Maurizio Sarri.

However, the 27-year-old has now revealed his anger at how Higuaín treated his friends and coaches since leaving the club.

“I didn’t like his way of celebrating [after scoring against Napoli for Juventus],” he told Corriere Dello Sport.

“Juventus move was a free choice, he was free to take it, of course.

“However, we crossed paths other times after that and never even once he came to greet us in the locker room, which would’ve been a natural gesture.

“This means that he also had a problem with us and not only the club, with his former team-mates who helped him get to 36 goals in a single season.”

Higuaín has scored just three goals in 11 appearances at Chelsea since January, leaving his future beyond this season in doubt.
