Liverpool have been dealt a huge blow in their bid for a new goalkeeper, with reports suggesting Alisson will sign a new Roma contract.
Stories emerged in the Liverpool Echo last week that Jürgen Klopp’s side were favourites to land the Brazilian shot-stopper, and were willing to part with upwards of €60 million to get their man.
However, Calcio Mercato on Tuesday have revealed that the Giallorossi are “working on” offering the 25-year-old a new bumper deal that would keep him in the Italian capital.
The new deal is also thought to include a €90m release clause.
Roma’s goalkeeper coach Roberto Negrisolo recently called Alisson “the Lionel Messi of goalkeepers.”
