Marcelo Bielsa’s brief and unsuccessful spell at Lille has come to an end.
The club announced on Friday that they had terminated Bielsa’s contract.

The Chilean joined Lille in May to much fanfare and expectations had been high.
But his tenure failed to really ever take off and was marred by confusion and controversy.
The 62-year-old was ‘suspended momentarily’ in November after he won just three of his first 13 games at the club.
His relationships with club officials, and particularly with Luis Campos, the sporting director, reportedly deteriorated quickly.
And with Lille still in the relegation zone in Ligue 1, they have now made the decision to close the curtain on a truly bizarre spell.
