José Juan Macías made controversial comments about the state of the Chivas dressing room, stating that some of his Chivas team-mates were jealous of his success at León and were not supporting him.

Macías declared that ‘the worst enemy of a Mexican is another Mexican’, a comment that has sparked outrage internally and amongst several footballing circles.

The 19-year-old striker has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign on loan at León, scoring four goals in five Liga MX matches this season.

Now his current manager, Ignacio Ambríz, has declared Macías won’t speak to the media again.

“You have to be calm, Macías will not speak again.

“It’s a form of support, but I also have to guide him because you have to put up with the bullets.

“I’m here to protect him and will tell him to leave the matter alone and to dedicate himself to what he knows.”

“Yesterday I spoke with him. Normally when I have young players, I never let them speak, I do not like them to talk, they are young.

“I know (Chivas sporting director Mariano) Varela and the people at Chivas.

“We spoke to each other and they asked me how he is doing.

“I already talked with him, I gave him my point of view both as a coach and a player of the game.”

León have a huge match coming up on Sunday as they travel to face Pumas.
