Leon Goretzka made all the headlines this past weekend with an impressive first-half brace as Bayern walked out of the Rhein-Neckar-Arena with a 3-1 victory over Hoffenheim to keep his side six points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund.

It was the German’s third and fourth goals of the season and he insists there are more goals on the way.

“In the first half of the season, I had more defensive duties and played further back,” Goretzka told the Bayern website.

“[In the Hoffenheim win] I played in the number 10 role. It’s a position I enjoy, and where the coach knows I can play.”

Goretzka was born and raised in Bochum and started his career at Vfl Bochum before he moved to Schalke – about a 25-minute drive away.

His summer transfer to Bayern saw the soon-to-be 24-year-old move away from home (over 600 km away) for the very first time.

However, the midfielder insists he’s very relaxed in Munich.

“Overall, I think it’s gone even better than I would have thought,” he continued, “I settled in very quickly at the club. I feel very good in the city too. I’ve definitely arrived.”

Bayern are back in action this Sunday when they take on 16th-placed Stuttgart.
