Leon Goretzka is relishing the pressure that comes with playing for Bayern Munich.
The Bavarians succumbed to a 3-1 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen this weekend and fell further behind leaders Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga table.
However, with Hertha Berlin to come in the German Cup this week, Goretzka thrives on such situations were all eyes will again be on Bayern.
Having scored again on Saturday taking his tally to four goals in three games, the midfielder is keen to maintain his success in front of goal.
“I like this pressure. That’s also why I came here. Under these circumstances, if you get it right, you can improve. That’s exactly the kind of game it’ll be on Wednesday.
“Of course I’m happy to be able to help the team with my goals, and I’d like to continue to do the same.”
Despite Bayern’s setback, there is good news with Thiago, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribéry all back on the training pitch having been sidelined by injury and Goretzka is looking forward to welcoming the trio back.
“They’re extremely important players for us, they give us a special quality and we’ll need them in the coming weeks as well.”
After Wednesday’s match in the capital, Bayern host Schalke on Saturday.
