Monaco are open to making the Adrien Silva-Youri Tielemans swap deal with Leicester permanent this summer.

That’s according to French outlet L’Equipe, who report that Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim wants to keep on loan Silva and would be happy to let Tielemans make his loan switch to the King Power Stadium a permanent move at the end of the season.

The Belgian midfielder has been brilliant since joining the Foxes in January, having so far contributed two goals and five assists.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash with Arsenal, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers hinted that there is every chance the club will smash their transfer record this summer.

“You pay for quality and as you know the numbers go up each year. Is it likely we will break our transfer record? The money is going up, absolutely, we shall see,” said Rodgers.

“The notion of the squad has been to bring in a talent and develop them, but you also need support around that talent as well.

“It is never easy when you are trying to bring in players to improve the squad.

“It is always complex but there is a lot of great work by the guys going on behind the scenes. There is daily dialogue in terms of players, it is on-going.”

Silva, meanwhile, fell out of favour under former Foxes boss Claude Puel and made just two appearances for the club this season, with his last coming in the second game of the campaign.

But the Portuguese has impressed since joining Monaco and his featured in all bar one of the Ligue 1 side’s matches since joining on 31 January.
