Brendan Rodgers and Leicester City are preparing for a potential Champions League run next season which will undoubtedly attract some of the world’s top players to the King Power Stadium this summer.
While Rodgers is doing their best to hold onto James Maddison, the Foxes are setting their sights on another midfielder in Spain.
According to Spanish outlet Coliseo Verdiblanco, Leicester City are currently in talks with Real Betis over defensive midfielder William Carvalho and are also in a ‘good position’ to land him in the upcoming transfer window.
The 59-time Portugal international has been plagued with injuries and has only been able to make nine LaLiga appearances this season.
With three years remaining on his current deal, Betis will look to cash in on the player, who cost €20m to bring in from Sporting Lisbon in summer 2018.
While Carvalho will cost a pretty penny, the move shouldn’t be even half of his confirmed €120m release clause.
