Bailey Peacock-Farrell is the only recognised first-team goalkeeper on the books of Leeds at the moment after Jamal Blackman broke his tibia while playing for the U-23s two weeks ago.

Since the Northern Ireland goalkeeper was also injured, Leeds were forced to call up goalkeepers Will Huffer and Kamil Miazek from the academy.

Huffer got the start and performed admirably in his professional debut – earning a clean sheet as Leeds defeated 10-man Bristol City 2-0 on Saturday.

Defender Aapo Halme also made his Leeds debut at centre-back during the win.

However, in their pre-match programme, Leeds United’s managing director Angus Kinnear stated that the club will be in for a goalkeeper early on in the January window.

Better safe than sorry.
