Anderlecht are nearing a deal to bring Kemar Roofe of Leeds United to the club as they look to arrest their disappointing start to the season.

Vincent Kompany’s men have scored just once in the league so far this season, highlighting a need to strengthen in attack.

Belgian football expert and journalist Kristof Terreur reported on Monday that Roofe was in Belgium to undergo a medical at the club.

Although there are no reports of a fee being agreed between the clubs, personal terms have apparently been discussed.

Speaking about the potential move, Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa admitted that he would be none too pleased if the striker is sold.

“I can’t be happy if Roofe leaves,” Bielsa said, quoted by BBC Sport. “If I say that when he scored 15 goals last season, then I’d be stupid.

“But we will have to adapt if it finally happens.”

Roofe will be unable to provide an instant impact for Anderlecht though as he is currently out of action with an injury.

The 26-year-old is sidelined with an ankle problem and is not expected to return to action until early next month.
