He’s got as many La Liga assists this season as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo combined and, according to reports in Spain, he could be on his way to Leeds United.

Andrés Guardado, the Mexico international with over 140 caps for his country, has had a stellar season after moving to Real Betis from PSV Eindhoven in the summer.

His play has apparently caught the eye at Leeds, who are willing to spend €6m on the midfielder, if El Gol Digital are to be believed.

It’s not clear if Betis would be willing to let him go as early as January but given his age, they could see a €6m sale as an attractive option in the summer.

Guardado is set to represent Mexico at the World Cup this summer.

The 31-year-old would bring both experience and quality to a Leeds midfield that could use a bit of both right now.

Despite playing all over Europe, Guardado has never experienced English football and he may see Leeds as the perfect opportunity to do so before he closes out his career.
