Leeds are reportedly interested in signing Boca Juniors midfielder Nahitan Nandez but face competition from a number of Serie A sides.
A story in the Italian press has claimed that Fiorentina, Sampdoria and Cagliari are all keen on the Uruguay international but could be gazumped by Marcelo Bielsa’s men.
Nandez currently plays in Argentina for Boca and starred alongside Edinson Cavani and Lucas Torreira for the South American’s at last summer’s World Cup.
Tutto Mercato claim that Bielsa has highlighted the 23-year-old as his number one target for next season but the Elland Road outfit may have to win promotion to the Premier League in order to land the sought-after midfielder.
Nandez is thought to have a release clause of €15m in his contract which, should he join Leeds, would make him the club’s most expensive signing since Robbie Fowler in 2001.
