Pontus Jansson will not feature for Sweden this month after injuring his knee on Saturday.
The Leeds United defender suffered the setback in the 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United.
Now, rather than join up with his international team-mates, Jansson will remain in Yorkshire for treatment.
Leeds are yet to comment on the severity of the injury and will hope to have the defender back in time for their next game against Millwall on 30 March.
Sweden kick off their European Championships Qualifying campaign against Romania and Norway next week.
